Data Engineer (AWS, SQL, Python)

One of our AWS Partner customers is looking to add a Data Engineer to the team working on the firm's latest SaaS offering.

This position provides the option for hybrid work, allowing for flexibility in work locations within Utah, including both the Provo and St. George region.

This engineer should have extensive AWS and MySQL experience and be adept at designing, constructing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures. Overall proficiency with cloud databases, troubleshooting, and optimization for performance and scalability is key.

Responsibilities:

· Design, build, and maintain scalable data systems.

· Collaborate with product managers and software engineers for data solutions.

· Develop data pipelines for rapid, reliable operational and analytical flows.

· Optimize MySQL databases for efficiency and performance.

· Enforce database standards and best practices.

· Implement effective data management procedures.

· Proactively resolve database and application issues.

· Evaluate and select database components and cloud services.

· Provide expertise in data storage, mining, and cleansing.

· Ensure data security and compliance.



Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, or related, or equivalent experience.

· Min. 3 years as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.

· Extensive MySQL experience, incl. optimization.

· Proficiency in data architecture, modeling, and warehousing.

· Familiarity with software and DB development best practices.

· Skills in data pipeline tools and SQL, plus other languages.

· Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

· Knowledge of data privacy regulations.

· Excellent teamwork, project management, and organization.



Preferred:

· Experience with multiple AWS Data technologies - AWS Certified
