Data Analytics Engineer - London - Salary to £80,000

What they need for this role is at a mid senior level and has team leading experience, a background in engineering is preferred over data scientist roles. They will also need to be okay with being in the office 3+ days per week and we will not go over the base salary of £80,000k

The Role:

We are seeking a smart and highly motivated individual to help us accommodate the ever-growing amount of data related tasks.

You will report to the Head of Data and be a valued member of an effective data team working to deliver growth against ambitious targets (>doubling each year).

You will play a key role in extracting useful information from data, providing important insights to the business. We are experiencing massive business growth, with which comes massive data growth. This opens new, highly interesting data-related avenues (better models, more precise targeting, data-driven culture throughout the company etc.), which requires the data team to grow accordingly.

Responsibilities:

You will take part in building and improving core models used in production, from a customer applies for financing until they have repaid: From estimating the probability that the customer will repay, to forecasting their revenue, to determining the price, to continuously giving best estimate of future repayments, to evaluating the outcome, comparing it to the predictions, and updating models accordingly.

Together with the rest of the data team, you will be responsible for all data and tools in our data platform, from raw input to final business-ready output data. This means that you will be involved in both data science/analytical work and data engineering. We believe that controlling how data appears allows for better use of the data, leading to more reliable insights. The exact split between engineering and science work will depend on your interests and skills.

You have:

* Fluent in SQL and Python
* Knowledge of modelling, statistics, machine learning
* Used to software development best practices and workflow
