Head of Data Engineering - Data & Analytics

REMOTE with occasional office visit (London)



My Client are a leading Insurance provider who have recently begun the journey of an internal restructure as part of the change programme to move towards being a more agile business.

They are now looking for a Head of Data Engineering to look after one of the Data divisions and being a key influencer with the Data strategy of the organisation.

You will most likely come from an insurance agnostic or regulated data environment, with extensive experience across AWS and the wider aspects of Data Analytics at a Senior Leadership level.

The role itself is open to UK-wide applicants on a remote basis, with an infrequent requirement to visit the London office (occasionally each month)



About You

The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for Data. You will be expected to lead from the front and implement your hands-on skills and expertise where required with the enthusiasm and drive to bring the best out of those within your division.

Technically, you will have a wide range of experience with Amazon Web Services and may have previously worked on projects related to migrating from old legacy tech to modern, cutting-edge cloud technologies or a major change programme for Data platforms.

You will have a sound understanding of Data Governance, and a strategic element to your decisions which will influence buy-in from others and drive the business forward.

You will be involved in hands-on engineering to ensure the delivery of the clients products are of high quality. As the Team Lead you will also have managerial responsibilities such as; leading the agile process, mentoring, reviewing team delivery and scrum master.
