    England, Northamptonshire, Northampton

    • 65000 to 80000 GBP
    • Developer Role
    • Skills: Lead Software Engineer, Technical Lead, VP Engineering, Java, Scala, React, Node, Angular, JavaScript, Spring, Hibernate, AWS, Cloud, Greenfield, Digital Transformation, Agile, Scrum, DevOps, CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, JIRA, Git, C#, REST
    • Seniority: Senior

    Job description

    Lead Software Engineer (VP) | Northampton | Remote Working | £65,000 - £80,000 (Base)

    I am engaged with a leading Investment Bank who are looking to recruit an experienced Lead Software Engineer, ideally with a 'full stack' development skill-set, to come in and take up a leadership role within the business.

    You will be expected to operate in a hybrid capacity, managing a team of Software Developers whilst at the same time focusing on hands on engineering and architectural discussions. You will also be expected to act as a key driver within the business for the promotion of engineering best practices and methods including Agile (Scrum), DevOps and CI/CD.

    Although this role is based out of their HQ in Northampton, the working pattern will remain 100% remote for the remainder of 2020 and will then likely involve 2/3 days' remote working per week next year. This is obviously subject to change due to the evolving situation with COVID, so applicants who can commute into Northampton and are happy to do so will be preferred for obvious reasons.

    In terms of the requirements for this role, I have tried to keep this short as I don't want you to have to read my own version of War & Peace! However, some of the key skills required include:

    Skills & Qualifications

    * Proven track record delivering commercial software applications using the Java technology stack (specifically Java 8-13, Spring, Maven, JMS, Hibernate, JBoss etc.).
    * Wider experience of programming languages including Scala, Python and C++. This is not an essential skill but candidates with a diverse background are always a positive!
    * Strong knowledge of JavaScript, as well as JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, Angular, ReactJS and Redux.
    * Experience working with Web-based technologies such as HTML, CSS and Bootstrap.
    * Experience interacting with RESTful Web Services and APIs, as well as experience working with development tools such as Git, Jenkins and Confluence.
    * Understanding of Agile/Scrum methods and experience working with both DevOps and CI/CD processes.
    * Understanding of OOP, SOLID and Design Patterns.
    * Experience working with Microservices architectural patterns.

    In return, you will benefit from a range of core benefits and perks including the following...

    Benefits

    * Discretionary annual bonus (usually 10-20%) based on both personal and company performance.
    * Employer pension (employer contributes 10%).
    * Holiday allowance of 25 days plus bank holidays. You can also buy/sell additional holidays.
    * Flexible working hours and the opportunity to regularly work remotely.
    * Private healthcare plan and life assurance.

    So if you like the sound of the above role and would like to find out more information then please reach out. You can get in touch with me via the following:

    * Telephone: 0191 338 7540
    * Email: l.haghighat@frgconsulting.com

    Job description

    AWS Cloud Solutions Architect | Global Bank | Northampton | Remote Working Included

    I am engaged with a Global Bank who are looking to add an experienced AWS Cloud Solutions Architect to be based out of their office in Northampton. The role is newly released, part of a post-COVID recruitment drive within the organisation and represents an extremely strategic hire for them due to the level of seniority and the business unit the role will operate in.

    The business area is undergoing a huge period of technology change, with an overriding focus on Cloud technologies and Digital transformation, so you should be able to (ideally) bring experience with one (or both) to the table.

    Working as part of a team split between multiple locations, you will be expected to liaise with multiple stakeholders (both technical and non-technical), working as something of an 'Internal Consultant' due to the wide array of business units you will be working with. Moreover, this role offers excellent career progression with the long-term aim of the role moving into a 'Head of Architecture' position.

    In terms of some of the key requirements, rather than copy and pasting the JD, I wanted to highlight the following:

    * AWS Cloud Technologies - First and foremost, you must demonstrate proven commercial experience working with AWS Cloud-based technologies, including the architecture of E2E Cloud solutions.
    * Stakeholder Management - Due to the strategic element within this role, you must have experience working with senior stakeholders (up to c-level).
    * Architecture Patterns - You should have experience working with modern architecture patterns including Domain-Driven Design, Microservices, APIs, Service Mesh and Event-Streaming.
    * Leadership - Whilst this isn't a managerial role, due to the level of seniority (VP-level), candidates with strong leadership skills and experience demonstrating leadership behaviours will be highly coveted.
    * Methods & Processes - Finally, should come from a background incorporating modern software engineering and delivery practices, so experience of the following would be ideal: Agile, Scrum, Kanban, XP, DevOps, CI/CD etc.

    In return, you will benefit from the following:

    * Base salary ranging from £60,000 - £80,000.
    * Annual discretionary bonus, usually ranging from 10-20%.
    * Company pension at 10%.
    * Private healthcare cover.
    * Flexible working and remote working.

    So if you like the sound of the above and your CV has some of the aforementioned key skills then why not apply? To do so, please contact me via the following methods:

    * Contact Number: 0191 338 7540
    * Email: l.haghighat@frgconsulting.com
    * LinkedIn: 'Liam Haghighat'

    Anything discussed will remain 100% confidential. Moreover, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, all interviews and on-boarding will be executed remotely.
