Job Description

My client are at the forefront of providing modern, scalable cloud based commercial solutions to help their customers proactively identify security risks buried in massive amounts of data. They leverage cutting edge scale-out solutions in cloud, AI/ML, IoT/edge and large-scale enterprise analytics to help our customers make informed decisions. They're small but experienced team with diverse backgrounds in the defence/security, analytics, and cloud computing space and looking to expand their team in Glasgow.

I am looking for hiring software engineers who can produce efficient and functional web-based software services to solve complex analytics problems. Core Skill Set

Experience integrating big data opensource technologies using modern architecture patterns

* Proficiency in server-side development using Python, Java and JavaScript
* Proficiency in related SW development, collaboration and testing tool suite
* Experience in distributed computing frameworks and application development
* Strong experience in architecting and implementing in both batch and streaming / real-time big data pipelines
* Experience with structured relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Hive on Object Storage)
* Experience with NoSQL/unstructured data and object stores (KV Stores, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, S3, Minio)
* Hands-on development experience using Public Cloud IaaS (Azure, AWS)
* Experience working within a Linux computing environment and use of command line tools including knowledge of shell/Python scripting for automating common tasks

Desirable Experience

* Knowledge of statistics and Machine Learning technologies on cloud-based platform (Hadoop, Spark, H2O, Tensorflow)
* Application development in the context of the big data / analytics space

Salary - £50,000-75,000


* Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics or related technical degree
* Masters (optional)
