As the DevOps Engineer, you will specialise in AWS and be responsible for building and maintaining both the infrastructures of our product and of bespoke client projects. Ideally with development experience in NodeJS you will work with our front-end engineers to develop and maintain serverless REST APIs to support each client project. You will be passionate about managing infrastructure, automation, and prefer serverless technologies when possible. You will also have the ability to mentor developers in infrastructure-as-code and serverless technologies.

Roles & Responsibilities

* Architect, develop and maintain scalable NodeJS APIs on AWS for the personalisation engine and payment capabilities of our platform
* Architect, develop and maintain scalable NodeJS APIs on AWS for the deployment of each client project
* Work with backend developers to deploy NodeJS APIs and Lambda functions
* Monitor production APIs and implement alerts and fail-overs
* Design, secure and maintain both our relational and non-relational databases
* Setup best practices for managing a large number of cloud-based infrastructures and environments (some are part of the client platform and some will be bespoke to each client project)
* Setup best practices for cloud-based infrastructure security


Skills & Experience

* At least one associate-level AWS certification
* Experience in architecting production-grade environments in public clouds such as AWS, GCE and Azure
* Strong Linux administration skills, strong scripting skills
* Exposure to handling infrastructures across multiple AWS accounts
* Strong knowledge of web authentication mechanisms and security threats
* Strong understanding of event-driven and reactive infrastructures, namely on AWS (knowledge of Kinesis, Firehose, SQS, SNS etc)
* Experience with API Gateway
* Excellent skills in Serverless or Terraform
* Experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet
* Experience with setting up auto-scaling clusters on ECS or Kubernetes
* Knowledge of load-testing strategies for cloud-based infrastructures
